Plastic bags with biodegradable additives

New Encore™ biodegradable additive*: Command has found that by adding a unique biodegradable additive to the bags, accelerated breakdown of the material can be achieved starting in 9 months when exposed to environments where other organic materials biodegrade - with the additive, the plastic will breakdown into its non-toxic natural elements of carbon dioxide, water and inert humus like natural elements necessary for plant life.

100% recyclable with post-consumer and post-industrial recycled material:
  • Recycled material can be added to the mix with the biodegradable additive to further divert waste.
  • Its unique property does not contaminate the recyling efforts unlike compostable (PLA) bags, so these plastic bags can be recycled to make new bags. During the heating process in the film's production, the active properties of the additive is destroyed to accept the material for recycling.
If litter is a concern, partner with us to educate and improve the recycling habits around us. The biodegradable additive can help by reacting to bacteria rich environments.

Environmental Terms
  • For the conscious consumer, the bag's recyclability is not affected by the additive, they are 100% re-usable and recyclable bag.
  • If littered and caught in the sewage drains, the biodegradable additive will react to these environments and begin its breakdown cycle - starting in 9 months.
  • Once the enzymes have been activated, the bag will continue to biodegrade until it returns to carbon dioxide, water and inert humus like elements found in the soil without the need for heat, light, moisture, or mechanical stress to break them down (anaerobically and aerobically designed to breakdown).
  • Once the activation begins, they will continue to fragment - even if buried in the landfill (it may take up to 5 years to fully breakdown in these conditions, but the unvalidated claims of 1000 years or more to breakdown no longer applies).
Strong and reliable
  • Shelf life and reliability will not be affected: Encore™ bags will maintain the benefits of strength, leak resistance, grease resistance, and less storage requirements until they are placed in an environment that cause the material to breakdown, i.e. soil and bacteria.
  • The look, feel, or functionality of the bag will not be affected by the additive, creating a truly environmental bag solution.
