EncoreTM products also feature biodegradable additives:

  • A unique biodegradable additive can be used to allow the bags to start biodegrading in 9 months once activated by microorganisms such as bacteria and fungus. The resulting particles will decompose into simple materials as found in nature, such as water, carbon dioxide and humus like elements found in the soil.
  • The new additive does not require oxygen and ambient moisture, or composting to begin biodegrading. The bags will naturally biodegrade where other organic materials are biodegrading (anaerobically and aerobically). Biodegradable additives can be blended into any of the manufacturer’s products and in any gauge.
  • Bags with biodegradable additives are recyclable.
  • Shelf life and reliability will not be affected: EncoreTM bags with the biodegradable additive will maintain the benefits of strength, leak resistance, grease resistance, and less storage requirements until they are placed in an environment that cause the material to breakdown, i.e. soil and bacteria.
